14-party human chain blocks traffic in Dhaka

The ruling 14-party Alliance has organised a human chain in Dhaka stretching from Gabtoli at one end to Jatrabari at the other, protesting “assassinations, conspiracy and terrorism by BNP-Jamaat.”
Traffic clogged up all over the city on Sunday afternoon as party activists held hands to form a chain and occupied half of the streets. In many places the activists of Awami League, Juba League and other sister organisations took out processions.
Leaders of the 14-party at the event alleged that BNP chief Khaleda Zia has been leading the assassinations with the cooperation of its ally Jamaat-e-Islami. [/su_column] [/su_row]
“BNP chief Khaleda Zia has been patronizing the recent assassinations to stop the development of Sheikh Hasina's government and mar the country's image in the world. For this reason she has picked out religious priests, university teachers, minority groups and others,” Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said at the Russel Square.
“She is following the path of killing and arson, the same as Pakistani soldiers who killed three million people during the Liberation War in 1971,” Tofail, an advisory council member of Awami League, said. Continue Reading …
